Teej is also known as Hariyali Teej, Chhoti Teej, Shravana Teej, Sawan Teej. Teej or Haryali Teej is celebrated on 09 August 2013 in India. Often it falls in the Shravana (Sawan) month on Shukla Paksha Tritiya and it is usually comes before two days from Naag Panchami.

Importance of Teej Festival and Teej Meaning in India
The Haryali Teej festival commemorates in the reunion of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. On this day married women pray and worship Goddess Parvati for conjugal bliss and happy married life. Newly married women visit their parent's house, wearing new clothes, bangles and full of makeups spent her day to listening teej songs & Teej Vrat Katha.
They decorate their hands and feet with henna in delicate designs. I remember my old days that My mother hang the rope on tree to marry-go-round for me on this day.
In our north Indian culture, I observe that the parents send their married daughter's Sindhara. Sindhara (सिंधारा) is a basket, full of gifts which is sent to the daughter and her in-laws by the parents of married girl.
It usually contains homemade sweets, Ghewar, Henna (Mehndi), bangles, Bindis, Sindoor, Makeup kits & much more. Due to custom of gifting Sindhara to the daughter and her in-laws during this Teej, Hariyali Teej is also known as Sindhara Teej.
