It seems after a lot of problems with the NEET PG Admissions, many private medical colleges have stated that they will not be able to accept NEET-PG results for admissions. But after the Supreme court notice, it was a sigh of relief for the students seeking admission via NEET PG 2013 Results.
The Supreme Court has now allowed the declaration of results for medical entrance examination conducted by private medical colleges which were cancelled by a court order last year in december 2012.
The Supreme Court has stated that NEET will be a voluntary exam. This means that medical institutes will follow common medical test only if they want to. This is interim arrangement.
The court also stated the colleges to publish all pending medical exam results. On the other side, the states Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and several private colleges and individuals had filed petitions in their state High Courts and obtained an interim stay against NEET applicability.
According to the current notice, now the counselling at medical colleges will end on May 31. There is some speculation that this deadline could be extended depending on when NEET-PG results would be declared.
Admissions for private medical entrance exam tests may be declared today.
A lot of of private medical colleges were opposed to the introduction of a single medical entrance test.
The Supreme Court in its verdict on May 13 had stated that there would be no single entrance exam for medicine.
NEET-PG results are expected to be declared in July. It is expected that the private medical entrance test results will be declared today. The Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges (AMUPMDC) will release results to commence the admission process.
There are, however, colleges that will admit students based on NEET scores. These includes :-
- S K Somaiya Institute of Medical Research
- Kashibai Navle Medical College (Ambegaon)
- Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research (Talegaon)
- Maharashtra Institute of Medical Science and Research (Latur)
